A netbook computer is a new and improved version of a laptop. A netbook is a smaller version that is underpowered and cheap. It is ultimately definied by its size, horsepower, price, and operating system. This new type of laptop can only run Windows XP or Linux. It currently is unable to run Windows XP Professional, Vista, etc.
A netbook is the ultimate choice for portability as it is small, lightweight, and not bulky at all. If you travel often, then this may be the right choice for you. However, if you use the internet a lot and need to store lots of files, the netbook may not be the best choice.
So, what’s different between a netbook and a laptop?
A laptop has a screen that is 12 inches and larger whereas a netbook has a screen of 12 inches maximum, no larger. Watching a movie will be rather easy on a laptop, but may not so easy on a netbook nor would it be typing a document if you are unable to see well.
The processor is important as it is what thoroughly processes the web content that you view. This includes movies as well as forum pages and e-mail. If you have a slower processor, which the netbooks have, you probably won’t be able to surf around YouTube or video sites all day long and except to get much from it.
The weight is much different as well. Laptops weight much more and are much more bulky than the netbooks are. Therefore, this is where the netbook is really able to shine through completely. This is definitely the thing you need for portability.
